Wong Ming Sum, born in Hong Kong, graduated from the Graduate Institution of Applied Art at The National Tainan University of the Arts in 2024. Her works primarily focus on interdisciplinary arts, combining metal, painting, objects, and images.
In recent years, her artistic practice has involved the use of transparent paint on mirrored surfaces to simulate the traces of rain. Employing a toothpick instead of a traditional brush, she carefully delineates the forms of water and the gradations of light, drop by drop. This method seeks to gradually and precisely reveal subtle emotional states that are often difficult to detect. Through the evocation of rain’s atmosphere, the work guides viewers to engage with the texture of intangible elements and the presence of life, as they navigate the visual interplay between stillness, motion, and transformation.
