Where I stand, everyone is a "blank mirror." The blankness before our eyes, a historical void, leaves people adrift between reality and its reflection. Though the naked eye longs to pierce through appearance via the mirror, it discovers that this "cleansed vessel" has gradually seized control of the city’s memory, blurring the distance between illusion and reality.
The artwork One Dollar #2 utilizes the one-dollar Hong Kong coin as a medium, employing grinding and polishing as a metaphor for the "mirrors" within the human tide. Erected upon the ground, the mirrors’ spatial arrangement serves as an allegory, speaking to the contradictions between individual memory and reality beneath the wheel of time—capturing the tension between the fluid body and the sealed past, between the halted boundary and the forward march.
