The Soul Shines No.1, resin, mirror aluminium, acrylic sheet, aluminum frame, 100.5x75.5x2.5cm, 2025

Neon fades, and the noise gradually recedes.
Immersed in an icy curtain of rain, can one perceive the candlelight of humanity?

The Soul Shines series uses raindrops as vessels of emotion. Through a toothpick acting as a surrogate brush, each trace is slowly inscribed onto a mirrored surface, simulating the marks of rain sliding across the city. Through the interplay of metallic reflection and refracted light, the work reflects a profound gaze into its time, as well as an inner awareness of the individual navigating between prosperity and alienation.

The refraction of the mirror blurs the boundaries of the plane, where reality and reflection intertwine and overlap. Within this coexistence of the real and the illusory, the viewer undergoes a dialectic of perception:

Rain washes over history, and the coldness of the city constructs barriers within the mind. Yet the candlelight has never truly disappeared. As the gaze lingers and passes through the curtain of rain, human tenderness can still be seen gently swaying amid wind and storm.
